The night that never slept

Today I;

attended a Jimmy Buffet concert,

was kissed by an off duty cop,

outran a lightning storm,

smoked an entire pack of cigarettes,

made a promise I would quit,

broke the promise,

listened to the repeated melodies a Michael Jackson tribute on 3 different stations for hours,

and finally let the lightning storm catch up to me.

I miss my best friend.

Cruising down the interstate

the sun breaks through the clouds

someday I'll catch up to you

And shut this engine down

lie to me

stop saying goodbye, I'm not going anywhere.
